Rescue to host Help a Horse Day fundraiser; educational event

AUBURNDALE – Hope Equine Rescue will host its 3rd Annual ASPCA Help a Horse Day fundraiser and educational event on Saturday, April 23, from 1 to 6 p.m.

The event will be held at Hope Equine Rescue, 1200 Dixie Drive, Auburndale. The event is the largest fundraising event for the rescue, held throughout the year. Hope Equine Rescue relies solely on public and private donations to care for abused, unwanted and neglected equine. Once rehabilitated, rescued equine are adopted back out to qualified forever homes.

Help a Horse Day will feature guest speaker Neil Combee, District 39 State Representative, as well as educational seminars, barn tours, a large tack sale, door prizes, raffles, games, food and more.


The schedule is as follows:

2 pm    Neil Combee – District 39 State Representative

2 pm    Nutrena Nutritional Seminar (following Representative Combee)

3 pm     K-9 Demo by Polk County Sherriff’s Office

4 pm    Horse Body Scoring by Polk County Sherriff’s Office

5 pm    Saddle Fitting Demo with Blackbird Equestrian


Barn tours will be held at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. and will introduce attendees to the current rescue residents.
