Saturday, April 22, 2017 – 2 – 6 p.m. – 4th Annual Help a Horse Day

In celebration of the ASPCA’s annual Help a Horse Day – a national effort on behalf of homeless horses and those who care for them – the rescue will host its own event from 2 to 6 p.m.

H.E.R. will provide this opportunity to enable the surrounding community know how they can be a part of the mission. Event will feature:

2 p.m. – Polk County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Demonstration; Tack Sale Opens

3 p.m. – Auburndale Mayor, Tim Pospichal

3:30 p.m. – Berkley Accelerated Middle School Chorus Performance

4 p.m. – Teacher of the Year, Jessica Solano (Storytime with Winston and his Herd of Heroes)

5 p.m. – T-shirt Winner and Contestant Recognition

6 p.m. – Tack Sale Closes

The event will also feature barn tours for attendees to learn the stories of the rescued horses, as well as raffles, door prizes and the Hoggy Style BBQ food truck.

This is a great opportunity for those who are interested to come out and ask questions, as well as take a look at the facility and the horses in the care of H.E.R.

No registration is required and there is no fee to attend, although it is recommended that visitors arrive early as more than 400 people attended last year’s event. There is no cost to attend either event.

Donations are encouraged. All proceeds from the event go directly to the care of H.E.R.’s rescued equine.
